For the past 22 years, First Citizens Power Saver Club has donated over 4,400 books to local organizations as part of its “Check It Out” book program. The program is designed to encourage children ages 14 and under to read.
This year’s donated books were: Unstoppable Me by Adam Dirks; Dragon Masters: Waking the Rainbow Dragon by Tracey West; and A Dog’s Tale: Sparky Rescues the Prestons by Dan Grunwald.
“The theme of this year’s books is bravery,” said Marti Rodamaker, President of First Citizens Bank. “There are many ways to be brave, so we’re hoping to inspire that feeling in kids with the books we chose. We wanted to show kids that many good things can come from being brave.”
The Power Saver Club at First Citizens Bank is the complete banking program for children ages 14 and under and teaches the importance of saving. It features a savings account (with a $5 minimum opening deposit), special drawings, and exclusive activities throughout the year. A parent, grandparent, guardian, aunt, or uncle can open an account for a child by stopping in any First Citizens location. Click here for more details about the Power Saver Club.
