First Citizens Bank is proud to announce they have been named "Best Community Banks to Work For in 2019" in the $1 billion or more asset size category. The recognition was based on anonymous employee responses of a 38 question survey. Winning banks in each of the five asset size classes had to have at least 40% of full-time employees participate in the survey.

This recognition is printed in the December 2019 issue of Independent Banker, a monthly publication by ICBA, Independent Community Bankers of America. In the article, Marti Rodamaker, President and CEO of First Citizens Bank, shares "We certainly try to create an open and fun culture for everyone, but one of the key components is that we try to make sure all of our locations and all of our employees are part of their communities."

As part of the survey, Independent Banker found the 98% of community bank employees recommend their workplace, and 95% of respondents said leadership of their bank is compassionate and cares.

'We are proud of this recognition, especially because it was in response to the employee survey from Independent Banker," said Rodamaker. She believes that focusing on community involvement helps keep employees engaged. "We know how important it is to give back, whether it's through time, talent, or with financial assistance. Our employees are encouraged to get involved, and that helps both our bank and our communities."
